- Very young but I like it. But I am sherry cask enthousiastic so this very active cask which gave it lot's to discover in only four years of maturation is a bingo for me.
- Had this one in a blind tasting: Pleasant dram, clearly some dark fruits, suggesting an active sherry cask. Pretty alcoholic though, pretty young whisky. But certainly a nice one to experience.
Red fruits, prunes, berries. Pretty some alcohol in the nose. Later on more 'drop', licorice. And some wood.
Pretty strong, dark red fruits, berries, prunes, drying mouthfeel, pretty some alcohol. Licorice as well.
Still very strong, dark red fruits, prunes, berries, a somewhat bitter taste now, pretty long. Drying mouthfeel again, licorice.
- Notes based on cask sample drawn right before bottling.
Big sherry notes, somewhat dry. Lots of fudge and caramel, with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cherries, and even a bit of mint. There’s a whisper of soy sauce, that becomes a whole lot louder with time, transforming it into a much more savoury dram.
Not as balanced as the nose, this is quite spicy and dry. Plenty of sal ammonia and nutmeg, with hints of burnt caramel, licorice and cough syrup. I’m missing some fruitiness. Adding water brings out more sweetness, but also highlights the dry side of this whisky.
Dark chocolate and drying.
