    Fantastic nice whisky, with a very long and tasty finish, a lot of sweetness and fruit. Beautiful.

      Fruity and floral, peach, orange, citrus. Strong alcohol. Vanilla and honey, even some coconut. Pear and apples.
    • Taste
      90 90
      Pretty strong, some pepper, sweet and fruity, peach, orange, pineapple. Vanilla, creamy, waxy. Some wood influence.
    • Finish
      91 91
      Still some pepper, powerful, peach, vanilla and honey, wood notes. Very long finish, later on some tobacco flavours remain in the mouth.

      Floral, buttercream, nutty, peach and a mild dusty wood note. With some water it's juicier, with honey sweetness, vanilla, canned peach syrup, oranges, limes and some coconut, also peanut and a faint cumin.

      On the light side: initially quite aggressive on alcohol; with water it's fresh and fruity, honey, clear peach, grapefruit, whipped cream and quite some white pepper and well integrated wood spicyness.
    • Finish
      88 88
      Medium length: sweet flower honey, still buttery, peaches, more woody than nose and taste with a mild bitter dryness.

    A nice Imperial, gets creamier as it goes on

      Honey, butter,  biscuit, peach, pear and a little apple.
    • Taste
      Bitter apple, honey, lemon and yellow plum, then some cream, pineapple and apple skin.
    • Finish
      Quite long and staying on a fruit sweetness

    I have yet to taste a bad Imperial from '95. All of them seem to be great, which is a fairly recent discovery for me. This one being my favorite by far. Too bad the bottle is almost empty.
    • Nose
      Very fruity and spicy. Light citrus, like mandarin oranges. Also peaches, banana and a load of soft, oily vanilla. Completed by some cinnamon and wood shavings.
    • Taste
      very sweet and heavy arrival, made possible by the high ABV of course. Into the development there's lots of vanilla and soft, sweet fruit like (overripe) pineapple, peach, apricot, mandarin oranges (the sweet kind). And it's all covered with this soft waxy note, very reminiscent of old Clynelish. Towards the finish it gets more bitter, dry and spicy. Lots of oak and wood spices, love it!

    Interesting mix of the creamy fruitiness with that spicy punch, especially at this ABV.

    Compared to some other '95 Imperials bottled by Signatory (e.g. cask 50143 and 50147) this one is considerably less waxy and has more citrus fruit. I can't say that it's inferior to the two I mentioned though; I'd rate it half a point or so lower, but that doesn't justify the price difference of around 25 euros in my opinion. Get one (or two, or three) before it's gone!
    • Nose
      Ripe peach, blood orange, vanilla, lime, coconut and raspberry candy. Then crême de cassis, beeswax, date and caramel. A light floral touch and with water more honey and some minerals.
    • Taste
      Orange, peach, raspberry, vanilla, honey, beeswax, grapefruit, candle wax, coconut, pepper and herbs. Then something like a cream liquor. I expected water to enhance the creaminess but that is not the case. It does release quite some honey though.
    • Finish
      Creamy peach, orange wine gum, vanilla, apple, caramel and honey. In the long run a nuttiness like almond and a little nutmeg.
